Gregor Kent, Director
Gregor is the founder of Origen Laboratories Pte Ltd and has been involved in the biotechnology industry for many years. Gregor is also the CEO of Research Instruments which is a leading distributor of scientific equipment in South-East Asia. Before starting the Research Instruments group of companies, Gregor began his career with Waters Inc. (USA) within the chemical products manufacturing, service and engineering divisions. He has held various management positions in service and sales during his career with Waters and Millipore in both Europe and Asia.
Thomas J Murphy, Chief Scientific Officer/General Manager

Dr. Thomas Murphy is a cell biologist with over 10 years’ experience in molecular cell biology and target identification and validation. His particular research interests include biological imaging, cell signaling, and angiogenesis. Prior to joining Origen Laboratories, Dr. Murphy worked as an Applications Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Dharmacon Products, to advise fellow scientists on advancements being made in the field of RNA interference. During his post-doctoral fellowship, he worked at the Novartis Institute for Functional Genomics (GNF) in San Diego, where he was responsible for conceiving and implementing siRNA-based genomic screens against inflammatory and oncology pathways. He received his B.A. in Biology from Occidental College, followed by his Ph.D. from the Molecular Biology Institute at University of California, Los Angeles. He has also held research positions at UC San Francisco and Amgen Inc. Dr. Murphy is currently Chief Scientific Officer and General Manager at Origen Labs and is in charge of business and technology development.
Grace Wong, Senior Scientist
M.A. Biotechnology, Columbia University, USA
Grace is a molecular biologist with over 5 years’ experience. She received her B.S. (Magna Cum Laude) in Medical Technology and is an Advance Honors Scholar of the University at Buffalo, New York. In 2002, she obtained her MT(ASCP) license and later, her M.A. in Biotechnology from Columbia University, New York. Prior to joining Origen Laboratories, she worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York and was responsible for the identification of activating mutations in sarcoma patients and the maintenance of an extensive molecular database. She provided genotyping support in the American College of Surgeons Oncology Group (ACOSOG) Z9001 Phase III clinical trials of Imatinib mesylate (Gleevec®, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation) and has collaborated with researchers from HOPP (MSKCC) and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to validate mutations detected by high-throughput sequencing. Currently, Grace is the Senior Scientist at Origen Labs and is in charge of project management.
